Soikot Sarkar

Biography

Soikot Sarkar is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Sonargaon University, Bangladesh. He completed his M.Sc. (Engineering) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, specializing in Electronics and Photonics, from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka. He earned his B.Sc. (Engineering) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, where he also completed a second major in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). His research focuses on nanophotonics, metasurfaces, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), and optoelectronic devices, with particular interest in the design and optimization of nanophotonic structures for imaging, sensing, and energy applications. His work involves computational electromagnetic modeling, numerical optimization, and the development of advanced photonic devices based on dielectric metasurfaces and integrated photonic platforms. In addition to his research activities, Mr. Sarkar is committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. He is passionate about fostering innovation and encouraging students to pursue research in emerging areas of electrical engineering and photonics.
